1. Slater Mill - Resting on the banks of the Blackstone River at Pawtucket village, this historic water-powered cotton mill is one of the most popular event venues on the Rhode Island coast. It is a National Historic Landmark and one of the most visited sites in Rhode Island with 30,000 visitors per year, boasting a museum and gorgeous grounds to explore. The mill is well-accustomed to hosting grand events, and is a key symbol of the American Industrial Revolution in New England.

2. Linden Place - Erected in 1810 in the waterfront area of downtown Bristol, this house is a popular host to weddings and events. It has been named a “Distinctive Destination” by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and has entertained generations of Rhode Island politicians and aristocrats. It was also a filming location for the 1974 film version of “The Great Gatsby.”

3. Castle Hill Inn - Now a modern day inn with dozens of rooms and buildings, this 19th-century Victorian seaside mansion was a summer home to Harvard researcher Alexander Agassiz for many years. Later, Agassiz deeded a small portion of land to the US government to build a lighthouse, which survives to this day.

4. Glen Manor House - Located in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, this beautiful mansion dates back to the 1880s and was a family residence added on to Glen Farm. The building was designed by John Russel Pope, who also designed the Jefferson Memorial in Washington D.C. The property focuses on weddings and other special occasions throughout the year.

5. Belle Mer - According to their management, Belle Mer “defines the Newport society experience.” This oceanside venue is a year-round event host to wedding receptions, parties, galas, and corporate events on the edge of Narragansett Bay. The grounds offer both indoor rooms and outdoor terrace spaces for a variety of purposes and chic setups.

6. Aldrich Mansion - Another beautiful estate along Narragansett Bay, the Mansion is situated on a massive 75-acre piece of property. Host to many historical weddings including that of John D. Rockefeller, Jr. who wed Abby Aldrich. Formerly known as Indian Oaks, construction began in 1896 and took 16 years to complete by 200 various craftsmen, many who were shipped over from Europe.

7. Ocean Cliff Hotel - Now on the former site of the Bronson Villa built in 1864, this resort’s newer renovation dates back to 1892 after being sold to Mr. Gaun M. Hutton, a wealthy industrialist who built the Trans-Siberian railroad in Russia for Czar Nicholas. The property has played host to social affairs and weddings for decades.

8. The Towers - Focused on atmosphere and architecture, this unique venue resides near historical Narragansett Pier. The area has long held onto a more casual and self-professed “lack of pretentiousness” in comparison to other venues in the region. The building itself dates back to the early 1900′s as part of a grand resort and casino area.

9. Blithewold Mansion - More than just a mansion, Blithewold boasts beautiful gardens and an arboretum. The name comes from Old English, meaning “happy woodland” and speaks to the many species of flora that abound on the grounds around the 45-room estate. The property is now managed by a preservation organization and is a popular location for RI wedding receptions.

10. Providence Biltmore - Since its grand opening in 1922 by hoteliers from New York City, the charming tower in downtown Providence has been a central character of Rhode Island history. Closed briefly during the 1970s and later undergoing a $7.5 million renovation, the Biltmore fully sustains its original charm. Now on the National Preservation Register for historic hotels, it is a key venue for meetings, events, and weddings year-round.
