The Glen (as it’s widely known throughout Rhode Island), is a specimen of chateau style architecture nestled among the rivers and bays of Portsmouth, Rhode Island-just minutes from historic Newport, RI. This venue is unique in that it allows for a waterfront setting with a mix of indoor, outdoor, tented, and garden areas for an event of up to 275 guests. The unique layout also lends itself well to smaller meetings and events and can be rented for afternoon, or entire day blocks.

Visitors see the best of Rhode Island as they make their way from Newport or Providence to the estate, winding through polo fields, vineyard and farmland, and scenic horse farms. The Manor’s grounds include a pier, formal rose gardens, a terrace with a working fountain, and of course, the beautifully restored mansion house. Once inside, the venue allows for plenty of practical “get ready” space for bridal parties on a private upper level, while guests can mingle throughout the impressive, marbled foyer entryway, ballroom or terraces during cocktail hour. Ceremonies can take place in the formal gardens (with several backdrop options), or inside the Manor house for a truly surreal setting. Guests often remark that the space helps to create a unique and intimate environment because its layout as a grand estate has been preserved in the form of several connected ballrooms instead of being renovated into one simple larger space. An outside, tented terrace adjoins one ballrooms and is used to host up to 200 for a seated reception.
